When did you discover your interest in fashion and writing?
Ever since I was a kid I naturally cared about what I was wearing. I enjoyed shopping with my mom and dad and picked out ridiculous things (Hawaiian and global prints were my go-to). As I got older, my style evolved and I had this rule that every year in school I would change my look. I was all over the place but enjoyed every minute of it.

What prompted you to start I Am Galla?
When I graduated high school I received the best dressed award and felt like I had some obligation to really do something with that. I took to the internet and saw other people writing fashion blogs and started one of my own. It was a hobby that turned into a business and I’m grateful everyday because of it.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
The best thing about blogging hands down is the freedom of expression. I get to dress however I want, photograph wherever I want and call all the shots. As bloggers we are the art directors, editors, stylists and models all in one and even though it seems like a “perfect life” it really is a lot of work and very rewarding. I love what I do.

What are you doing when you’re not blogging?
I’m always blogging! That’s where social media comes in. I could be enjoying other hobbies such as playing music, working out or traveling and yet I’m Instagraming the whole time for my blog. I’s not just something I do, it’s a lifestyle.

What is your favorite fit of AEO denim?
Skinny! I’m a firm believer that everyone (including men) shouldn’t be afraid to showcase some body shape. Fitted everything… that’s my rule.

What trends from AEO do you love most for Spring?
Pastel colors for guys are great. The Paneled Short Sleeve Button Down Shirt will definitely be something I wear with some chinos at the beach.

Where do you find your inspiration?
Everywhere: eras in time, celebrities, books, colors, you name it. There is no limit to inspiration, that’s the great part.

What is the last song you listened to?
“Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac.

Where is the coolest place you have ever traveled?
Hawaii. It’s stunning. It’s kind of unbelievable that something that perfect exists.

What fashion trend do you hope to never see again?
Baggy pants: retired and fired.

What fashion trend do you hope comes back in style?
60’s is always welcome to come back in my book. Love mod, love the colors, love hippies, etc.

Tell us a few fun facts about you.
My favorite food is anything with pesto on it. I’m a huge animal lover. I’m a Libra. And I’m afraid of flying (yes, I’m a travel blogger).

What’s next on your life to-do list?
Really take my business to the next level. I just got an office in SoHo and an assistant, I just want to continue growing and really have an impact on the menswear market. I want to collaborate with the best and travel, travel, travel!
