One thing we love about colder temps is having an excuse to wear sweaters with every outfit. We’re falling in love with our Mock Neck Crop Sweater. With a cropped silhouette and mock neck, it’s the perfect piece for layering over your favorite denim or skirt. Lauren from The Marcy Stop takes advantage of the changing temps by pairing our sweater back to a skirt and bootie for perfect #AEOSTYLE that screams “Fall”.
Meet Lauren from The Marcy Stop: Lauren Gould has always been a fashion addict. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she moved to New York over a decade ago to pursue a higher education along with her dream of working in the industry. That journey has led her on a twisted road throughout the realms of fashion publishing, public relations and design: from front row at fashion shows in Paris to behind-the-scenes at photo shoots in New York, to developing what eventually became the foundation for her personal style blog, The Marcy Stop. Named after the subway stop in Brooklyn that she lives off of, Lauren sees her blog as a unique way to document her outfits, lifestyle, travel and inspiration, all while working with up-and-coming brands and talented individuals in the process. Alongside the blog, she also holds the title of Design Director for Brooklyn-based creative agency HOWL Group and serves as a freelance creative consultant for a variety of brands on the side.
What Inspired Lauren’s Look: Winter is coming, and with it also comes an endless barrage of layers. The thing I always miss the most? Exposing a little leg. I’m not one of those girls to go tights-less in below-frigid temps, so Fall for me is all about taking advantage of the cooling weather while still showing off a little skin. A cozy sweater like this cropped one let’s you do just that, keeping you warm and snug on top while still allowing your legs to soak up that Autumn breeze. Here, I paired it with an A-line, button-down denim skirt to lend my look a little 70’s vibe, but as the weather cools I can definitely see myself wearing it with a pair of denim flairs. In addition to being so versatile, the sweater’s neutral color let’s you play around with fun accessories and different tones for an easy-going, foolproof outfit that can easily take you from weekdays at the office to Sunday brunch with the girls.
