- Denim with a wash of your choice
- Fabric (we used a scarf) You’ll only need about a half yard.
- Ruler or measuring tape
- Fusible fabric tape
Measure how long you want your shorts to be. Leave about 4 inches of length for the cuffs then cut.
Fold about an inch over for the first cuff and secure with fabric tape. For best results, follow the instructions on the fabric tape package.
Fold the fabric over the tape and measure the width of the leg opening and then cut the fabric accordingly. Then, measure about 4.5 inches of the fabric for the length and cut.
Bonus: Trace the space above the left pocket and cut a piece of fabric to add some extra embellishment!
Using the fusible fabric tape, secure the cut fabric to the inside of the short, right above the cuff. Fold the short over to form the second cuff, folding the fabric along with it. Place another piece of fabric tape on the inside of the cuff between the denim and fabric and secure. Use the tape to secure the fabric to the pocket.
Voila, you’re done! Enjoy your new shorts!
