DIY Glitter Candy Apples

Make your Halloween a little sweeter with this fun addition to your fave classic treat! These candy apples are glitterally everything.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Red Delicious apples
  • Candy apple kit
  • Edible glitter
  • Edible star glitter
  • Sugar
  • Cookie sheet

WHAT DO DO:

  1. Following the directions on your candy apple kit, mix the contents with water and sugar and bring them to a boil.
  2. Continue cooking over medium to high heat.
  3. While the candy cooks, firmly put a wooden candy apple stick in the apple so you can hold it by the stick.
  4. Also while the candy cooks, lightly grease a cookie sheet.
  5. Once the candy reaches 302° Fahrenheit, remove from heat.
  6. Dip each apple into the candy mixture and set it on the cookie sheet.
  7. Before the candy hardens, dust apples with glitter.
  8. Let your candy apples harden and enjoy!

*Do not refrigerate apples. Store in a cool, dry place.

Andrea currently lives in Greenwich, CT with her husband, two kids and their dog. Isak is a sports management student with a focus on fitness and wellness. He has a personal training and group fitness business in Greenwich, CT and is building fitness and wellness influence in his community with big goals for his future. Isak encourages everyone to be active, enjoy life and be proud of who they are.

Strawberry Pink Lemonade Popsicle Recipe

We combined two classic summer staples into one refreshing must-have for any sunny day. Read on to find out how to make your own!

Strawberry Pink Lemonade Popsicle Recipe

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Pink lemonade (see lemonade/water ratios below)
  • Coconut water
  • 6 strawberries
  • 1 tsp. lemon zest
  • 10 wooden popsicle sticks
  • 1 popsicle mold (holds 10 popsicles)

WHAT TO DO:

  1. De-stem and thinly slice strawberries. Set half aside.
  2.  Combine 2 parts pink lemonade to 1 part coconut water.
  3. Muddle half of the strawberries and mix them into the liquid.
  4. Zest a fresh lemon and add half of the zest to the mixture.
  5. Pour mixture  into popsicle molds, leaving space at the top for expansion.Strawberry Pink Lemonade Popsicle Recipe
  6. Carefully place leftover sliced strawberries (2-3 slices per popsicle) into molds.
  7. Sprinkle additional lemon zest on top of the molds.
  8. Carefully place wooden popsicle sticks in the middle of each mold.
  9. Freeze until they’re solid, or overnight.
  10. ENJOY!

Mardi Gras Treats

Treat yourself this Tuesday– no need to be in NOLA to celebrate Mardi Gras!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 6 cups crisped rice cereal
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 package (10 oz.) marshmallows
  • Purple candy melts
  • Star shaped silicone mold (optional)
  • Green, gold and purple sugar pearls
  • Green, gold and purple sprinkles

Mardi Gras Treats

WHAT TO DO:

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until they’re melted and combined.
  3. Remove mixture from heat and add it to cereal until it’s evenly coated.
  4. Coat a 13 x 9 inch pan with cooking spray, pressing mixture evenly into pan.
  5. Let cool and cut into small rectangles.
  6. Melt purple candy according to instructions and pour into molds.
  7. Reserving half, dip the treats into the melted candy, as much or as little as you’d like.
  8. Decorate using the cooled star candies, sugar pearls and sprinkles.
