How To Style The Choker Neck Sweater With Glamarosh

The choker necklace made a huge comeback over the past year, and we’re so glad it did. We’ve used this 90s accessory staple to complement everything from bomber jackets to dresses, but now we’re loving a new take on the choker necklace that’s two of our favorite looks in one: the Choker Neck Sweater. Blogger Roshni Patel from Glamarosh styled this two-in-one top with an old Holloywood meets modern-chic feel by layering a long necklace over the choker top and pairing it with block mules. Check out Roshni’s look & what inspired her outfit below.

What Inspired Roshni’s Look:
“My choker blush sweater from American Eagle has been my favorite go to this year! The lightweight material makes it easy to layer with a denim jacket or wear as is on those warmer days. Since it was warm enough to ditch the jacket, I paired with a pop of color mules and 70s style sunglasses to add a little fun spark to your cozy essentials. The beauty in this piece is you can dress it up or down for any occasion. For those colder days, the sweater would pair well with a short skirt, OTK boots and a long coat.”

DIY Ugly Sweater For Last Minute Holiday Parties

Holiday party season is in full swing, and there’s always a chance you might get a last minute invite to one this weekend (or already have one on the calendar!). It seems like every year holiday parties require the best (or worst?) ugly sweater attire, so if you’re scrambling for a quick outfit to wear out this weekend, we can help. All you need are a few quick decorations and tools, most of which you probably already have on hand. Keep reading for our step-by-step guide to making a DIY Ugly Sweater for last minute holiday parties.

What You Need:

1. Find the perfect sweater. We like our Ahhhmazingly Soft Jegging Sweater (pictured) or the Raglan V-Neck Sweater. Bright colors are best to really make your look stand out!

2. Start with some tinsel. Use your hot glue gun or fabric glue to add some fun texture and depth to your sweater. In this case, the crazier it looks, the better!

3. Glue on seasonal patches or pins. Grab your DCI Ugly Sweater Kit or pins, or make your own cutout holiday shapes from thick fabric like felt or fleece. Glue the patches over the tinsel for a 3-D effect.

4. Add your finishing touches. Take your sweater over-the-top and add finishing touches like mirror balls (you could even use ornaments here) and throw a necklace on top – extra points if your sweater lights up!

How To Style Leggings With Laura

Leggings have been on our must-have list for the past several seasons, but we’re especially excited about our Winter leggings this year. We’re offering more variety than ever – sweater fabric, bold patterns, photo real prints and, of course, the basic, go-with-everything hi-rise legging. Because we were feeling overwhelmed by all the amazing leggings, we turned to our favorite Styling Manager, Laura, for styling tips. Below, Laura pulled together two different looks featuring leggings to fit every style, from sporty athleisure to cozy comfort.

Look #1: Winterized Athleisure
We love the way printed leggings look paired back to sporty sneakers. The gold details on these sneaks elevate them from the average sport shoe, making this athleisure look on trend. Keep it seasonal with a heavier parka, and play with color by contrasting navy and grey hues with a sienna hoodie and a vibrant winter hat.

Look #2: Cozy Comfort
Sweater leggings are stealing the show this season, so let them do the talking for this look. Pair bold patterned sweater leggings back to a cream sweater with cool side zip features, and add a bit of shine with gold sneakers. Let a grey bralette peek out beneath the sweater for a flirty finish to the look.

One Sweater, Three Ways: Open Knit Crew Sweater

Every so often a top comes along that you want to wear with everything because it’s just that perfect. That’s how we feel about our Open Knit Crew Sweater. It’s the ultimate seasonal transition piece and a fresh take on a basic cable knit. Plus, the open knit details make it lightweight enough to layer or throw over top of a tank or tee those early fall days when the sun is still blazing (and you’re trying your hardest to make Fall happen!). Check out how we styled one sweater, three ways below.

One Sweater, Three Ways featuring the AEO Open Knit Crew Sweater

Look #1: Weekend Cool
This outfit will carry you from the coffee shop on Saturday morning to your Netflix binge on Sunday night. Keep the look carefree but still put-together by pairing a tapered jogger with your open knit sweater, and finish the look with a classic pair of double buckle sandals.

Look #2: Pretty Comfort
A fun twist to Fall outfitting is utilizing your favorite tank dress as a layering tool. We love the way the pattern and colors peek through an open knit sweater, giving you the perfect excuse to squeeze one last wear out of your prettiest Summer dresses. Add a pair of booties to bring a sense of the season to the outfit.

Look #3:Effortlessly Relaxed
Sweaters, plaid button downs, and destroyed denim: if we could only wear those three Fall pieces, we’d be totally fine with it. Keep your look casual and give a nod to the 90’s by tying an unbuttoned plaid shirt around your waist, but pull the outfit into this decade by mixing destructed denim with suede clogs. Don’t forget a layering tank under your sweater!

Styled by Lauren: Pastels & Neutrals

Styled by Lauren: Pastels & Neutrals

Our Manager of Styling, Lauren, was inspired by the sunshine of San Francisco when she was building this look for Adria during our Spring 2014 photo shoot. One of the trends for spring we’re most excited for is soft dressing and our Soft Pant is the easiest way to start the look. Adria is primed to be the most stylish girl at any block party in her pastel and neutral palette.

To keep Adria’s look really easy and stylish, Lauren paired the Soft Pant with our Cropped Raglan Sweater. This sweater comes in five different colors ranging from pretty pink and yellow pastels to basic black. We suggest grabbing one in every color to match back to all of our printed pants.

You can wear just about any shoe with this look! Your favorite booties or heels can dress it up, or go for comfort with our Slip-On Sneaker. Add a Knit Beanie for another touch of effortlessly cool style. Lauren went with black accessories to accentuate the detailed pastel-colored print of the pants.
