“I have been obsessed with velvet lately and am so happy the 90s are still making a comeback! This dress is perfect for the holidays and is also a great layering piece that can be dressed up or down. I decided to keep it simple and keep the focal point on the dress. As with most of my outfits, I truly believe less is always more.”

AEO Tulum Travel Diary

Hola from Tulum, Mexico, where the ocean water is crystal clear, the sun is always shining and the food is amazing! After a quick plane ride, we landed in paradise, and Raphael, Fanny and I couldn’t wait to explore Tulum.

AEO Tulum Travel Diary We stayed at Papaya Playa Project, a tropical themed hotel where each room was decorated uniquely with straw rooftops and its own personal space away from other guests. Rather than a typical resort where there are people everywhere you go, picture a place tucked away in a lush jungle just a hundred feet away from the ocean with nothing but the sound of the waves and a light breeze; a place where you can get away and be at peace with nature but still have great company when you need it.

AEO Tulum Travel Diary

We dropped our bags off in our room and grabbed dinner at the hotel restaurant. I cannot begin to tell you just how amazing the seafood was! To be honest, everything tasted amazing in Tulum! The food was fresh and had unique flavors unlike anything else. After a decadent dessert, we called it a night to get ready for the upcoming day.

We enjoyed breakfast and the beautiful scenery right at our hotel, taking advantage of the hammocks on the beach. The ocean front was decorated with hundreds of twisted palm trees, colorful cabanas and even some iguanas. Surrounded by palm trees, we couldn’t resist getting a few fresh coconuts and taking a dip in one of the pools.

AEO Tulum Travel Diary

After our swim, we headed to Gran Cenote which is an underwater cave. Tulum has over two hundred underwater caves. The caves are great for snorkeling and swimming, but we decided to just dip our feet in and enjoy the landscape.

AEO Tulum Travel Diary

Next up on our list was lunch at Posada Margherita. This place was located right on the beach and had quite a few beach chairs for relaxing in while you enjoy an appetizer or a cold drink. Once we filled up our stomachs with delicious food, we explored the area and found a cool little rooftop that overlooked the beach and had amazing views.

AEO Tulum Travel Diary

One of my favorite things about Tulum was all of the shopping right along the beach. We browsed the shops and ended up renting bicycles to get around town. After a long first day we decided to grab a quick dinner at Mateo’s Mexican Grill before getting some sleep for our next day of adventures.

AEO Tulum Travel Diary

The next morning, we headed to the city after breakfast and checked out some unique architecture scattered throughout downtown Tulum. One of my favorite things about this place is the beautiful things around each corner, which makes exploring another country feel exciting. After some fun in town, we headed back to our hotel to relax and take advantage of the day beds and swing set right on the beach.

AEO Tulum Travel Diary We couldn’t leave Tulum without exploring the ocean, so we rented snorkeling gear and went for a dip. We wrapped up the day by watching the sunset and having dinner at Tabano. Worn out from a long day we went to our rooms to catch a great night’s sleep before heading home the next day.

AEO Tulum Travel Diary

Tulum, Mexico is destination I highly recommend. It’s full of tranquility and peace and is a place where you can relax one day then explore the surrounding beauty on another. If you could spend a week or even just a few days in Tulum, who would you bring with you? Let us know in the comments below!

AEO Lake Powell Travel Diary

With its beautiful landscapes painted in orange and red tones as well as the many activities on land and water, Lake Powell has become a very popular vacation spot. Casey, Melissa, and I couldn’t wait to explore the area so we packed up the car in LA and hit the road for an epic weekend getaway.

When we got to Lake Powell we did some hiking through some of the most unique landscapes we’ve ever seen. One stop we made on our hike was the Rimrocks Hoodoos where mushroom shaped rock formations stick straight up out of the ground.

AEO Lake Powell

Next up on our list was one place I have been dying to see, Antelope Canyon. We took a tour through the lower canyon with smooth sandstone walls made over time by wind and water. There were even dinosaur footprints at the end of the canyon!

AEO Lake Powell

After all of the hiking we needed to refuel so we stopped at a Thai restaurant in town called Dara Thai Express. After we refueled we threw on our swimwear and hit the water. With the beautiful blue water and surrounding landscapes it really felt like we were on another planet.

AEO Lake Powell

To end our first day of adventuring, we decided to go to a lookout spot very close to the Glen Canyon Dam. We sat along the edge of one of the cliffs, listened to some tunes and watched the sunset — truly a moment I’ll never forget. Once it started getting dark we headed over to Bonkers Restaurant and had some amazing dinner before we called it a night.

The next morning, we grabbed breakfast at Ranch House Grill and then headed to Horseshoe Bend to catch some early morning light. It was a little cold outside so we grabbed a few sleeping bags and set them up right next to the edge of this beautiful windy canyon where we watched the many boats on the river below us float by.

AEO Lake Powell

The last spot was something straight out of a movie. Just off a little dirt road is a huge cliff face called Coal Mine Canyon. The canyon overlooked colorful rock formations scattered throughout the vast desert landscape. We opened up our map and decided to do some exploring. Around every corner was something new and unique. We could’ve explored the area forever!

AEO Lake Powell

Lake Powell is definitely a place to add to your travel bucket list. There is so much to do and so many beautiful places to see!

How To Style The Denim X4 Hi-Rise Jegging Crop With ForeverVanny

With temperatures being higher than normal this winter, we’re celebrating by showing our…ankles! Our Denim X4 Hi-Rise Jegging Crop is all about the 4-Way stretch. Made with upgraded flexibility & 360-degree movement, you’re destined to love these jeans. Van from ForeverVanny styled this denim to reflect her weekend wear which includes anything with sneakers. Get to know Van and her #AEOSTYLE below…your style and ankles will thank you.

How To Style The Denim X4 Hi-Rise Jegging Crop With ForeverVanny

Meet Van: “Hi, I’m Van. I’m just a regular 22-year-old currently residing in New York City. As someone who has always had a love for photography, I combined my hobby of playing dress up together with that, and out came a fashion blog. I don’t really take my style as seriously as most people with fashion blogs do. I just wear what I’m really comfortable in and experiment with different trends when I’m ready for it, as opposed to hopping on every latest trend. I studied Sociology at Uni while keeping the blog serving almost as my portfolio on the side, and that landed me a job in the fashion industry right after. It’s really awesome to have the freedom to dress your truest self for the job you have every day!”

How To Style The Denim X4 Hi-Rise Jegging Crop With ForeverVanny

What Inspired Van’s Look: “My look is most definitely inspired by my weekend mantra — sneakers with anything. Having to wear dressier shoes for work, not that that is a bad thing, but I find myself leaning towards comfier shoes on my off days. One of the easiest things to go with sneakers is a perfectly fitted pair of destroyed skinnies. I love how these AEO jeggings take the look of denim but feel like leggings. I always try to balance everything, so if my knees are exposed, I’ll have to cover my neck, hence the sweater. To keep the neutral tone of this combination of grey and camel, I threw on a fluffy white coat that makes me look like a walking sheep *BAAA. With this look, you can find me roaming the streets of New York, sitting in a coffee shop trying to take the perfect shot of my mocha for the gram or at a cafe brunching!”
