Make a studded band for your hat with I spy diy

Hi everyone! It’s Jenni from I Spy DIY, back with a new series of DIY projects geared toward the holidays. This week I am going to show you how to spice up your winter hat with some leather and studs to give it a statement makeover!

What you need:
Goorin Francis Fratelli Fedora
Leather
Screw on studs
Leather punch
Scissors

Supplies (2)

What to do:

Step One: Measure the circumference of the hat and cut two strips of leather that when overlapped an inch on each end will fit snuggly around the brim.

Step Two: Using the leather punch, create two rows of holes along the leather strip.

Step2 (2)

Step Three: Screw in each stud by pushing the back through the hole and screwing on the top.

Step3 (2)

Step Four: Connect the two ends of the strip by doubling up the leather, punching holes through both ends.

Step4 (2)

Step Five: Take the final band and put on your hat. If you wish to make the band permanent, attach it with a couple dabs of glue. Done!

Personalize your wrapping paper with I SPY DIY

Hi everyone! It’s Jenni from I Spy DIY, back with a new series of DIY projects geared toward the holidays. This week, I’m showing you how to perfectly wrap your holiday presents for the best gift giving ever. Read on to see how to turn your #AEOGIFTS into a work of art!

Pompom ribbon
Pink ‘Cheer’ gift wrap
Multicolored pompoms
Circular necklace holder
Yarn in ‘Grenadine’
Stamp set
Wrapping paper

Pom poms: Embellish your printed wrapping by gluing on pom poms. A simple upgrade that make your present infinitely more fun!

Make a Cozy Stripe Sweater Pillow with I SPY DIY

Hi everyone! It’s Jenni from I Spy DIY, back with a new series of DIY projects geared toward the holidays. This week, I’m showing you how to make a holiday-inspired pillow from an AEO sweater plus a bonus pillow, just for fun. They’re perfect for lazy afternoon naps (and also for a little holiday inspiration year round).

AEO Shag Striped Sweater
Scissors
Needle and thread
Fray Block (optional)

What to do:
Step 1: Cut off the sleeves and the neckline of the sweater to create a square.

Sweaterpillow_step1Tip: If needed, use fray block to stop unraveling.

Sweaterpillow_step2Step 2: Turn sweater inside out. Then, whip stitch the neck and arm holes closed.

Sweaterpillow_step3Step 3: Turn right side out, and put pillow inside.

Pom Pom Printed Holiday Pillow:

Carving Block
Carver with assorted cutters
Fabric Ink pad
Pillow Case
Yarn
Scissors

What to do:
Step 1: Draw your tree design on the carving block.

Treepillow_Step0Step 2: Carve away everything outside of the tree.

Treepillow_step1Step 3: Press stamp into ink and create a pattern on your pillow.

Treepillow_Step2To make the pom pom:
Wrap yarn around three fingers.

Treepillow_step4Next, take the yarn off your hand and tie another piece around the middle of the yarn, tie in a knot.

Treepillow_step5Then, cut the loops.

Treepillow_step6Trim uneven ends.

Treepillow_step7Next, sew pom poms on to your pillow corners.

Create a DIY mug with I SPY DIY

Hi everyone! It’s Jenni from I Spy DIY, back with a new series of DIY projects geared for the holiday season. This week, I put together a fun DIY project for you to do while you are cozied up by the fire after Thanksgiving dinner. It’s the perfect project to create for your friends (or yourself) this holiday season.

What you need:
Mug
Tissue paper
Dishwater safe ModPodge
Brush
Cute heart print gloves (optional) ;)

What to do:

Step 1: Rip off smaller pieces of tissue paper.

Step 2: Spread ModPodge on mug.

IMG_8451Step 3: Place tissue paper pieces, then paint over the top with ModPodge. Let dry.

How to make Tartan Patchwork Jeans with I SPY DIY

Hi everyone! It’s Jenni from I Spy DIY, back with a new series of DIY projects geared for the holiday season. My first project? I’m showing you how to take your favorite jeggings to the next level with vegan leather and tartan flannel patch details. Read on for my step-by-step guide that will make your jeggings the envy of every holiday party.

 Take your denim to the next level with flannel and leather detailing.

Black Jeggings
Vegan Leather
Plaid Boxers
Fabric glue
Blade or scissors

What to do:

Step1Step 1: Cut a few slits and square holes into your jeggings.

Step2Step 2: For extra distressing,try this shredding technique.

Step3Step 3: Cut square patches from your plaid boxers and faux leather.

Step4Step 4: Put patches in place.

Step 5: Turn jean inside out and use fabric glue to attach to the inside of your jeans. Let dry. Done!
