3 SUMMER STAPLES, ENDLESS BEACH VIBES

Molly Hogan (@trendychickadee) is a sun-chasing, sandy-beach-loving boho babe. Based in LA, her blog is dedicated to bringing followers all the latest info on her favorite up-and-coming brands, emerging trends, travel diaries and more.

Molly’s relaxed, beachy vibe reminds us of what we love most about summer: effortless, sunny style during the warmest days of the year. We asked her to show us her take on 3 summer staples – tanks, shorts and Aerie swim!

White Denim Shorts Aerie Swim Trendy ChickadeeMolly took her first look to the sunny Golf Coast of Florida. First order of business? Pool time, obviously. Molly rocked Aerie’s swimsuit of the summer, the One Piece Super Scoop, and topped it off with a straw fedora.

Next up, Molly took her bike for a quick spin around town in classic white denim shorts and a flirty, strapless ruffled top. Does anything feel more boardwalk-ready than pale, nautical stripes? (We think not!)

“My favorite summer wardrobe staple is a pair of white denim shorts, and AEO has the best of the best! I paired them with a breezy tube top for a beach bike ride, and then a chambray crop later in the day for an early dinner.”

Styling The Cutout Floral Dress with Amanda Oleri

Growing up just outside of NYC, Amanda Oleri (@eastcoastfox) was introduced at a young age to the culture, fashion and pace of the city –  an energy that still influences her unique style (an effortless mix of trendy, modern and bohemian) today.

These days, you’ll most often find the founder of lifestyle destination East Coast Fox exploring her Brooklyn neighborhood, jet-setting to her next spontaneous escape destination, or updating the blog with her latest style tips and adventures.

We asked Amanda to style this ultra-feminine floral dress (with some eye-catching cutouts), and she gave it her signature NYC spin by pairing it with these bright-white high tops – because, as she puts it, “you can’t walk the city in heels!” The combo of flirty florals and sporty sneakers makes for an effortless, throw-on-and-go look.

Check out Amanda’s full look below…

Amanda on the inspiration behind her look:
“A cute floral dress is all you need ATM. Lucky for you, I’ve got one right here. And don’t be silly, it’s not your average floral dress – this baby is a head-turner. Between the sweet little cutouts on the side and the keyhole in the front, it’s the perfect blend of flirty and cute.”

Styling the Jumper Dress with Monica Chang

Monica Chang loves all things fashion. When she’s not busy with her job at a WeHo startup, she’s filling her Insta (@monichang) with fun, vibrant photos of her bohemian-meets-minimalist style. Based in Los Angeles, Monica loves music (hiphop all the way), checking out the LA food scene (pad thai and donuts are at the top of her list) and vlogging her way through one coffee shop after another for her YouTube channel.

We challenged Monica to style this playful polka-dot jumper dress and she handled it like a BOSS, layering it over a short-sleeve tee for a chic yet effortless look. We’re loving the monochromatic effect of the tee and dress combo and the way she played up the look with a few key accessories and cool lace-up ballet flats.

Check out Monica’s full look in the AEO Jumper Dress below…

Monica on the inspiration behind her look:
“I’m all about wearing pieces that can easily transition from season to season – and this jumper dress is especially versatile! It’s still a bit chilly in Los Angeles (70 degrees is cold for me, alright?!) so I layered it with a plain black tee and simple gold jewelry, including some cute rings from American Eagle! I also wanted to add color and dimension to the outfit, so I paired it with my pink ballerina flats. And come summertime, I’ll likely style this with a lace bralette and my good ol’ Birkenstocks.”

Danielle Wittig‘s positive outlook shines through on her sunny Instagram feed, her adventure-filled blog and, of course, her breezy, boho-chic style. Thanks to a lifelong a passion for connecting and communicating with others, Danielle went from chatting up new friends at coffee shops to a Communications Degree. And after graduating college, Danielle finally decided to combine her love of personal connection with her love of fashion. The result? Her irresistible blog, D’s Moments.

What inspired Danielle’s look:
“A lot of my sense of style comes from my Grandma. She’s always worn a killer ring on every finger and you’ll never see her not dripping in turquoise stones! Because of her, I believe in wearing pieces that make you feel good when you’re going about your day. My style is laid-back bohemian with lots of pretty prints and lots of denim. American Eagle totally masters the style and feel I always go for.”

“If you know me, you know I am obsessed with those easy one-and-done pieces. With spring upon us, that means festivals, outdoor concerts and beach vacations, which was the inspiration when styling this look. Pair an easy statement piece like this cutest Knot Keyhole Romper with some comfy lace-up sandals, dainty jewels and a wide brim hat, you’re ready for all of your spring plans!”

How to Style Denim Cutoffs, featuring Mars Jackson

Meet Mars Jacksonan indie artist raised and based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Mars is currently signed with Misra Records, and when he’s not working on music or doing shows, he’s busy discovering new ways to enjoy his city to the fullest — as you can see on his artfully curated (and Pittsburgh-proud) Instagram.

We asked Mars to style one of our favorite pieces from the latest AEO men’s collection: the denim cutoff. With an updated, tailored fit, shorter inseam, and distressed details, these shorts are an obvious choice for your summer go-to.

Check out Mars’ style tips for the perfect casual-cool look (along with a few glimpses of his beloved Steel City) below.

What inspired Mars’ look:
“I’m still influenced by my upbringing. I naturally give off a laid-back vibe, especially when it comes to style, and I love feeling comfortable wherever I go. I loved how comfortable the Extreme Flex Denim Shorts were. You can’t go wrong with the Flex. I paired them back to the Long Sleeve Feel Fine T- Shirt and a basic jean jacket – perfect for a summer evening in the city of Pittsburgh.”

How To Style A Matching Skirt & Crop Top With The Boho Flow

We love a festival-ready look. Black ground floral patterns are an edgy way to ease into pretty Spring patterns, and few things make us think of warm weather more than crop tops and bare shoulders. We’re also really in to the matchback look this season (perfect pairs are so easy to wear when the work is already done for you!). Cristina from The Boho Flow brings this look to life in our Off-The-Shoulder Crop Top and Button Front Maxi Skirt. Check out Cristina’s full look below & let us know how you’ll style a matching set in the comments (or take a pic & show us for a chance to be featured in our Style Gallery)!

Cristina Monti Fashion and Lifestyle blogger wearing american eagle floral print two piece crop top and skirt with slit

Meet Cristina:
“I created my fashion lifestyle blog, The Boho Flow, in hopes of inspiring woman all over through my personal style, taste in music and thirst for life. I believe there is beauty in everything life has to offer. I also believe you create your own beauty, hence The Boho Flow, in my case. It’s a space where I get to create freely everything I find beautiful or inspiring.

Throughout my time as a blogger, I’ve come to realize that I have many passions. I’m currently very passionate about travelling and living a healthy and proactive lifestyle. I think that there’s a lot a person can learn from travelling and creating content and really just following your heart, dreams and what brings you the most joy.

My main goal is to keep creating innovative content that inspires the on the go millennial young woman. I’m a strong believer in spiritually and a healthy lifestyle, so as I grow and learn much about myself, my style, beliefs and mindset evolve just the same.Travelling to places I’ve never seen. Learning different cultures, perspectives, beliefs, lifestyles, etc., these are all characteristics that help me create content to encourage woman to feel strong, beautiful, elegant, ambitious all while conveying a cool unique and flavourful in the know style.”

What Inspired Cristina’s Look:
“If you know anything about me or my style, you would know that I love black. It was a pretty easy choice for me to pick such a cute ensemble since its base is black, making the floral print not too overbearing and just feminine enough.

Spring is in bloom, which means florals, off the shoulder tops, skirts and everything pretty. As a result, this look right here. American Eagle really knows how to start a new season with a bang. I took the liberty in pairing this awesome floral crop top and matching maxi skirt with fishnets, a leather jacket ( because it’s not yet warm enough to be bare shoulder ) and velvet heel booties. I wanted to add my edgy touch to this awesome floral set and voilà!

I can’t wait for summer so that I can get to rock this top with a pair of high-waisted jeans and a little denim jacket or this skirt with a little tank or thin knitted sweater and sneakers. Looks I really look forward styling with these pretty American Eagle pieces.”
