With professional experiences as a stylist and marketer, Erin decided to take a leap and go public with her fashion musings. What Inspired Erin’s Look:
“I am known for being a bit denim obsessed, so any opportunity to wear denim – whether it be jeans, cut off shorts, or a denim skirt – I will take! I am all for taking trendy pieces and making them feel right to me — so with the weather warming up and festival season around the corner, I wanted to figure out a way to be able to wear a denim skirt again. Combining this vintage cut-off denim skirt with a kelly green sweatshirt felt like the perfect update to this 90’s trend, and my modern take on the classic cut off skirt.”

How To Style The Cutoff Denim Short With Justin Davids

Just as we were about to pack away our snow gear, winter came back with a vengeance. Even though Snowmageddon 2017 is imminent, you can still think spring (or, if you’re lucky enough to live on the west coast, you can actually break out your warm weather look now)! Denim cutoff shorts are going to be a big trend this year – you’ll be seeing them everywhere from summer music festivals to the beach. Menswear Instagrammer Justin Davids styled our super versatile AEO Denim Cutoff Short with a laid-back, easy vibe. See Justin’s full look below and let us know what spring trends you’re excited to wear in the comments.

Meet Justin:
“I recently switched coasts, moving from Los Angeles to New York City. My girlfriend and I create daily vlogs chronicling life in The Big Apple. I teamed up with her to also create DIY room decor for teens. One reason I was so drawn to the city was because the fashion here is very adventurous. I’ve been loving the high fashion vibes just as much as the street style. When it comes to my style I’d say that I’m sort of  a chameleon. I change up my look depending where I’m going and what I’m doing.”

What Inspired Justin’s Look:
“These ripped denim shorts are a new spring staple for me because they can be styled a million different ways. Shorts are a tough beast to tame, some are too short or run a bit too tight, but these are comfy, and they hit that sweet spot just above the knee. Heading into spring I tend to reach for styles that are crisp and clean, so I paired these ripped shorts with a classic striped tee for a classic vibe, which fits with my laid back style day to day. Being that it’s still a bit chilly here in the city, I decided to throw on a lightweight neutral colored spring trench for layers done just right.”

How To Style The Band Tee With Daily Mister

Graphic tees are an easy way to inject unique #AEOSTYLE into your look. This season, we’re seeing an emphasis on fun, elevated graphics that speak to everything from your favorite band (inspired by vintage rock tees) to modern block lettering. Band tees are super of-the-moment and look great with just about anything. Menswear blogger Mac Joseph from Daily Mister styled one of our Guns ‘N’ Roses tees with an ultra-cool, edgy vibe. (Sound familiar? Check out our other post featuring a vintage band tee here). See Mac’s full look below and let us know what vintage trends you’re loving right now in the comments.

Meet Mac:
Mac is a Brooklyn based blogger and DJ, when not working full time at a digital communications agency. With his blog, Daily Mister, Mac aims to make menswear fun again with his eclectic fashion sense and irrelevant writing style. His love of fashion, pop culture, music, art, and New York City come together to create a unique social media presence.”

What Inspired Mac’s Look:
“Since I’m wearing band tee of one of my favorite groups I decided to pay homage to classic rock style with some modern upgrades. (Think The Ramones, The Clash, Sex Pistols, etc.) You can never go wrong with all black. When wearing a shirt like this, all you need is a great pair of fitted black jeans and your favorite pair of boots. (Bonus points if they’re worn in!) To take my look to the next level I paired the tee with a leather jacket and a mix of accessories including a wide brim hat and a mix of jewelry. What I love about a good band tee is it’s a great staple piece that can be styled up or down and worn all year round with the right layers.”

San Francisco Travel Style with Om & The City

My trip to San Francisco was a rather spontaneous one, but those are always the best, right?! With little to no planning, my boyfriend and I packed our bags and flew cross-country with one small carry-on in hand (yes, we did indeed share). Packing light with lots of versatile layers was essential for this on-the-fly trip – check out my top 5 favorite things about the lovely land of SF.

The Food

Mmm… the food in SF was so delicious. I’d have to say my favorite spot, though, was Cafe Réveille in Mission Bay. If you visit, you MUST go for brunch and get the pancakes! With the sun out, it was the perfect weather to nosh outside while wearing a cozy sweater. Enjoying a tasty breakfast outside in the middle of February was certainly a nice break from the cold winds in NYC!

The Sights

San Francisco may only be 7×7 miles, but there are enough beautiful spots to enjoy for a lifetime. From exploring the lively hipster streets of Mission and The Castro to hailing a cab up to the luxurious homes in Twin Peaks, you certainly can’t beat the views.

The Coffee

Oh my goodness, the coffee was incredible. I must have downed AT LEAST 3 cups a day, which is a lot for me. Favorite spot? Philz Coffee, hands down. You have to try the Mint Mojito… it’s their most beloved concoction there. My runners up would be Four Barrel and Ritual Coffee Roasters!

The Nature

I can see now why people flock to the west coast for their fill of nature! The parks are gorgeous – my favorite was Dolores Park. Also, the type of trees and plants in SF are so much different that the ones I see in NYC. I had never seen such giant succulent before. We eventually stumbled into a neighborhood park with a swing hanging on a tree. I don’t care what people say, you’re never too old to play on a swing.

The Date Nights

The golden hour in San Fran is unreal. It is the perfect ambiance for an early evening date night. Since most of the restaurants close around 10pm, we started our date early and ended up making our way to an ice cream sandwich shop called Cream. Dessert before dinner = 👌when you’re on vacay! I loved wearing such a pretty, fluttery dress and throwing on the bomber jacket when the sun went down!

Meet Rachael:
“Rachael is the pint-sized, fashion loving, rebel behind the Miami-based style website Summer of Diane.  She launched her site after hanging up her hair stylist shears to become a full-time gypsy, having lived on both coasts totaling 5 states in the past 5 years.  She has finally settled her roots in Miami, but the constant change solidified her longstanding belief that it’s never too late to start a new adventure.  Summer of Diane is where she shares her bohemian beach style, travel inspiration, & passion for all things tropical.”

What Inspired Rachael’s Look:
“Being a self-proclaimed denim short aficionado, I have to admit that these Vintage Hi-Rise Festival Shorties are one of my favorites.  I absolutely love that they have zero stretch to the fabric, which makes them feel like genuine vintage shorts.  I know we’ve all been conditioned to equate stretch with comfort, but rest assured they are so soft & broken-in, that there is nothing uncomfortable about them.  Additionally, I would consider myself fairly petite, standing in at 4’11”, and I love how flattering the Hi-Rise style is on my smaller frame.  These shorts have even managed to give me the illusion of having curves, & that my friends, is nothing shy of a miracle.

With festival & outdoor concert season right around the corner, I wanted to put a fun look together to kick start your summer inspiration.  I paired the shorts with this feminine lace top because I felt like it was a nice juxtaposition against the ultra-distressed denim.  I topped the look off with some whimsical accessories & a pair of chunky platforms.  My personal style definitely leans more to the adventurous side than most, but I feel like festival season is the perfect time to experiment with your own look.  So have fun, throw some glitter on your face, & pick up a pair of these amazing shorts—You won’t regret it!”
