If the bomber is the jacket of the season, the denim on the season is definitely the Vintage Hi-Rise Jean. Boyfriend fit denim is having a major moment right now, and we’re taking full advantage of the trend. Blogger Cait Warakomski from How Do You Wear That? styled the Vintage Hi-Rise Jean perfectly suited for a laid-back weekend or brunch. Check out Cait’s full look below & discover what she loves about the Vintage Hi-Rise Jean.
“Caitlyn grew up in a small town in NJ halfway between Philly and NYC (1 hour from each) and 30 minutes from the beach, a pretty ideal spot. She has always loved fashion, but more so style. Growing up, she would always go to thrift stores on the weekends with her mom. She’d find these really cool pieces in vibrant boho fabrics and while a particular piece might not even fit her, she would still get it anyway because she envisioned how she could ‘make it work.’
That’s when she realized she really enjoyed styling things and putting together different outfits. So, that’s why she always says she likes style more, rather than fashion. Some people may think those two words are interchangeable, but not to her. Caitlyn really likes styling anything – whether it be an outfit, a space, event, website, etc. In June 2015, Caitlyn decided to bite the bullet and launch her blog & Instagram How Do You Wear That. She finally has discovered something that encompasses everything she genuinely loves to do in one cohesive element.”
What Inspired Cait’s Look:
“Personally, I am a sucker for boyfriend jeans. I love them. You can wear them with sneakers and look cool or you can dress them up with a heel and look sophisticated. I really feel like you could never go wrong! Anyone else feel me on that?).
Jeans are always really hard for me to shop for because of the fit. Most people don’t believe me, but when I am asked where I shop for my jeans or what my go-to jean brand is, I say American Eagle. Their Vintage Hi-Rise is true to size, flexible and comfy just like their high-rise skinnies. I feel like they just hug you in the right places and after so many washes, they hold their own.
I went the causal route and paired my Vintage Hi-Rise Denim with a graphic tee, simple white sneakers and a leather jacket (who doesn’t love a leather jacket – you could seriously wear it with a ball gown and look good…) I always think – when in doubt, go with denim and or a leather jacket. What are your go-to items?”
