#AEOSTYLE Roundup: Austin City Limits

As the end of October  quickly approaches, we want to take a minute to reflect on how awesome the 2015 festival season was. Our festival tour ended with Austin City Limits two weeks ago, and we couldn’t have picked a better way to finish out the year. We loved everything about ACL Fest and Austin: the food, performances and, of course, fashion were all on point. Naturally, we’re recapping our favorite ACL looks featuring #AEOSTYLE. Check out all the photos below, and get some inspiration for next year (because we know you’re already planning!).

But really – festival shorties are a must.

We loved the way our AEO Wool Feather Panama Hat brought out the colors in the AEO Patterned Cami.

Austin City Limits Recap

We’d like to thank today’s guest blogger Grace, Senior Copywriter at AEO, who traveled to Austin City Limits with Social Media Coordinator Addie to capture every moment of the festival for us!

It’s been a week since Florence & the Machine closed the 13th annual Austin City Limits Festival, and we’re still star-struck by her mesmerizing performance. It was truly the perfect end to an epic weekend of music, dancing and #AEOSTYLE.

But before we get caught up swooning over Florence, let’s start at the beginning.

Austin

Greetings from Austin!

Austin City Limits Music Festival

Welcome to Zilker Park!

Day 1 was a whirlwind of travel, tacos and finding our groove in Zilker Park. After fueling up at Torchy’s and taking in the iconic art installations at Roadhouse Relics, we caught our first glimpse of the festival grounds. With 8 stages to choose from, we caught as much as we could of Leon Bridges‘ soulful sound before catching the tail end of an energetic set from the Kansas Bible Company. Tame Impala was our next stop before fueling up with some Salt Lick BBQ and GoodPop popsicles.

We were psyched to spot TONS of AEO festival shorties and graphic tees in the crowd, along with festival-perfect flower crowns and waist-tied flannels that came in handy when the sun set and the Foo Fighters took the stage for their second headlining performance.

Hope Outdoor Gallery

Next time you visit Hope Outdoor Gallery, try to spot our #AEOSTYLE tag!

Our AEO Wool Panama Hat is the perfect ACL accessory.

We kicked off Day 2 with a trip to the famous Hope Outdoor Gallery, a can’t-miss stop on any Austin visit. We left our tag and headed to Zilker to meet up with this year’s Mayor of ACL, Lainey Gonzales.  The UT Austin freshman and official ACL ambassador of fun gave us her tips for enjoying the festival (“Don’t miss Walk The Moon!”) and told her favorite perk of being Mayor – being one of the first people on the grounds when the gates open and thousands of people swarm in to see their favorite acts.

From HOLYCHILD to MisterWives to Modest Mouse, Saturday was packed with highlights. We noticed lots of soft lace and fringe details, along with the denim on denim look we can’t get enough of.

AEO Festival Shorties are a must for fans.

But it wasn’t just on the fans. The incredible San Fermin band let us snap a pick of their backstage style and chatted with us about their first time at ACL and their new single, No Devil.

After spending some time in awesome Austin, they agreed that their next band goal was to headline a show in the city, but for now they’re happy to share the marquee with alt-J and Best Coast at the Hollywood Bowl, another bucket list venue. Their best advice to up-and-coming bands hoping to play ACL one day? “Play as much as possible. Talk to everyone who comes out to see you.” We were so stoked to meet these amazingly talented and refreshingly humble musicians as they make their way across the US on tour.

We rounded out Day 2 with one of the most talked about acts at ACL and sure enough, Drake did NOT disappoint. Drizzy had nothing but love for his Austin fam, and they proved theirs by singing along to a few of his earliest hits.

Drake killed it on the main stage.

It wouldn’t have been a festival Sunday without a hearty Texas brunch to kick things off, and considering the lineup, we needed all the sustenance we could get.   The final fest day was filled with some of our favorite bands. Halsey, Classixx, Vance Joy and alt-J were some of the standout sets we saw, all leading up to the Florence & the Machine experience of a lifetime.

ACL Goodbye Weekend 2

What’s a music festival without a little fringe and flannel?

Until next year, ACL!
