AEOStyle Roundup: CF Edition

James Vela, South Texas College: “As dreadful as waking up for class may be, sporting a few of my favorite comfort staples makes getting back into the school routine a whole lot bearable.”

Allie DeBor, Penn State University: “American Eagle Outfitter’s high-rise jeggings are the perfect match for me. For heading to class, they are a steal in achieving a look that’s simple, laid back and of course fashionable as ever. I paired the jeans with a V-neck, white, cotton sweater that is rather light to help keep me cool while busily moving from one building to another.”

Maddy Schlosser, Tulane University: “Denim overalls are the perfect mix of comfort and style for a long day of classes. Paired with wedges, a cropped halter, floppy hat and canvas tote, overalls are a great way to switch things up from your usual skinny jeans.”

Meghan Trimble, East Carolina University: “While it’s difficult to take notes when I forget pen and paper, there is one classroom essential I could never live without: my American Eagle Outfitters cropped jeggings. This dark-washed denim looks great partnered with any colorful accessory thrown their way. A graphic tank, boho bag and my favorite jeggings always leave me feeling stylish and comfortable on my way to class.

Dual Denim Dotted Skirt with I Spy DIY

Hi everyone! It’s Jenni from I Spy DIY. I’m back with the second part of my series of DIY projects all around denim this Back to School season. This project is a dual denim dotted skirt, I added a more condensed dot pattern on the back of the skirt to take the design to the next level!

What you need:
Black Denim skirt
Bleach gel pen

Step1_supplies What to do:
Step one: Lay your denim skirt flat, then make a line of dots with your bleach pen each an inch apart. Practice on a piece of paper making small dots with the pen.

Step two: Continue dotting rows on your skirt, each row an inch apart.
Step4 Step three: Let sit for 10 minutes.

Step5Step four: Using your Q-tips, remove any excess bleach on each dot.

Step6Step five: Flip to the reverse side and repeat. Try making the space between the dots smaller on the back, for a new twist on the polka dot trend!

I Spy DIY tip: Be sure to hand wash the denim skirt in cold water before you wear for the first time!

#AEOSTYLE Challenge Denim Edition: Jegging

We believe in one-of-a-kind fits, not one size fits all. We put our blood, sweat and tears into designing the best fits, the latest washes and sizes designed for everybody. Cat from Cat Wright Style caught our attention with her amazing #AEOSTYLE photos.

We asked Cat to style one of our most iconic fits, the Jegging. The jegging is our sexiest, skinniest fit…. it fits like a jean and feels like a legging (it doesn’t get any better than that)!

What inspired Cat’s look:
There’s nothing I love more than denim, so if I’m wearing black jeans I like to layer a simple tank with a denim vest or button up. I believe a hat can hide even the worst hair day and I love the pop of neon in this “Los Angeles” beanie that I will no doubt wear no matter how hot it is outside. My look is never complete without sunnies, turquoise accessories and the right watch that can hold its own and doesn’t beg to be asked ‘What time is it?’

It’s all about the Street Scene!

If your style icons include the likes of Zoe Kravitz, Gwen Stefani, Demi Lovato and Rihanna then the street scene trend was made for you! Rock-and-roll aesthetic mixed with oversized sweaters, a pair of fabulous rugged boots and jeans that fit like leggings will give your #AEOSTYLE the perfect edge this school year. Read on for styling tips to create a look that’s casually cool, requires little effort and will make you standout in any crowd.

1.  Start with the basics.  Grab your fave destroyed jeggings paired with a rocker inspired tank or your go-to fitted dress.
2. Toughen up your look with our must-have moto jacket that will make your outfit look expensive and will also carry your summer style through fall.
3. Bring on the bling! Always accessorize with studs, chains and spikes. Layer on our mixed metal bracelets with a stacked spike necklace.
4.  Add a scene stealing shoe. Our leopard print slip-ons or rugged boot will do the job.
5.  Don’t forget the retro element. Mix up your street scene style with acid wash jeans and a cozy flannel tied around your waist.

This look is inspired by NYC street style.

Destroyed denim paired with leopard slip-ons provide the perfect amount of edge to this casually cool look.
