How To: Make an Almond Milk Pumpkin Spice Latte

Getting your hands on a PSL without even leaving your house? YEP. Now you can skip the coffee shop line, save your wallet a few $$ and make this baby in the comfort of your own home—with just a little help from the microwave. Oh, and did we mention it’s healthy, too?

How To: Make an Almond Milk Pumpkin Spice Latte

1/4 cup strong coffee or espresso

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

2 tbsp pumpkin puree

1 tbsp maple syrup (for a lighter version, use 1 packet of stevia)

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/8 tsp salt

1] Pour the almond milk in a medium sized microwave-safe bowl. Add in the pumpkin puree, maple syrup/stevia, vanilla extract, spices and salt.

2] Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, poke a small hole in the top and microwave until hot (about 1 1/2 mins).

3] Remove the plastic wrap and whisk until the milk is foamy. If you don’t have a whisk, a fork makes a great substitute.

Erin’s Outfit Of The Week: Winter Whites Are Coming!

Oh (cold) snap! There’s no escaping it: it’s November, temps are dropping and winter is coming… but so are winter whites! This week, Erin shows you how to transition into outfit whiteouts by mixing in subtle neutrals until winter is officially here.

Our Flowy Nightie was designed as sleepwear, but there’s no reason you can’t show it off and wear it out, too. Its v-neck silhouette is the best excuse to show a subtle pop of color with your lavender Lace Strappy Racerback Bralette underneath. Match with a Bikini Undie in the same shade for the prettiest pair.

Erin’s Outfit Of The Week: Winter Whites Are Coming!

To stay warm, layer with a taupe Bonfire Vest. We know we say it a lot, but we mean it. This soft knit blend is COZY! Then get even warmer with a Supersoft Beanie on top. On the bottom, keep the winter whites going with our plaid Boot Socks. Wear AEO’s Slouchy Tall Boots over them to bare a little leg but stay mostly covered for the season.

Seal your look with a Letter Pouch (online Thursday!) for a Very Aerie approach to winter whites. Cozy up, cuties!

How to Make Halloween Treats

In honor of National Candy Corn Day we asked Annie, the baker behind the yummy Bakin You Crazy Instagram account,  to show us how to whip together her favorite candy corn treat! Read on to learn how to whip up her sweet and spooky recipe.

Triple Chocolate Candy Corn Cookies

How to Make Halloween Treats

Yields 20-24 normal size cookies or 6-8 jumbo cookies

1 cup salted butter
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs
3 table spoons milk
3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 tablespoons instant chocolate pudding mix
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk chocolate chips (plus more to place on top, optional)
1 cup white chocolate chips (plus more to place on top, optional)
1 cup candy corn (plus more to place on top, optional)

How to Make Halloween Treats

Instructions | Part 1

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave butter for 45 seconds or until completely melted.
  3. Add sugar to butter. Beat on low until smooth.
  4. Add vanilla, eggs and milk to butter and sugar mixture. Mix on low until thorough combined.
  5. In separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, pudding, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Slowly, pour flour mixture into butter mixture while beating on low.
  7. Add chocolate chips and mix. (DISCLAIMER: You can add candy corn to cookie dough now or directly after cookies are removed from oven. The latter prevents unpredictable cookie shapes due to melted candy corn.

How to Make Halloween Treats

How to Make Halloween Treats

Instructions | Part 2

  1. Place heaping tables spoons of dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. (DISCLAIMER: If candy corn was mixed into dough, make sure no candy corn is in direct contact with the baking sheet. This will result in deformed cookies. Instead, shape dough so candy corn is on top or inside the ball of cookie dough.)
  2. Bake for 8-10 minutes depending on oven. Cookies should look gooey and soft. Do not over bake!!
  3. For picture perfect cookies, additional chocolate chips and candy corn can be placed on warm cookies with a slight push.
  4. The cookies should remain soft and fudgy when cool… If they last that long!
  5. Voilà! Delicious Halloween treats!

How To Style The AEO Oversized Plaid Blazer With The Boho Flow

Fall is all about getting cozy in bold prints and patterns. Our Oversized Plaid Blazer is the quintessential transition piece for getting used to those colder days. Cristina from THE BOHO FLOW pieces together similar color tones for classic #AEOSTYLE. Get to know Cristina and the inspiration behind her look below.

Meet Cristina: Travelling between New York, Montreal and Los Angeles, Cristina Monti inspires her readers by bringing style, music and joy. Everything beautiful comes to life on her personal blog THE BOHO FLOW.
With THE BOHO FLOW, she’s creating an image that not only inspires young women around the world but empowers them while inciting just the right amount of confidence.  She’s driven to enrich the vision of her following by building a positive unified welcoming platform.  Every look fashioned by THE BOHO FLOW is built by a strong influential team to create the highest quality images.
Besides her love for everything she believes to be beautiful, Cristina has an insatiable passion for design & travelling.
She’s collaborating with style influencers to give her readers the most stimulating seasonal outfits, styles and trends.

What Inspired Cristina’s Look: For most of us that don’t live in endless summer weather, Fall has officially arrived. It’s always so important to bundle up within the first couple of weeks of transitional weather to avoid getting sick. Here, I put together the perfect Fall ensemble that will surely keep anyone warm and stylish. When layering it’s always very important to wear similar colour tones. Grey’s, blacks, taupe and camel are really the “IT” colours of the season.
In this particular look, what truly brings it all together is this beautiful and warm American Eagle plaid sweater, which is conveniently on point with this season’s trending colour palette. After years of searching, I’m so happy to have finally found the perfect plaid sweater. It’s definitely a closet staple, its achromatic colours can simply never run out of style, plus its warm, cozy and so stylish. It can be worn as a light jacket to wear over a pretty dress or even just a simple date night to a diner followed by a late movie. I paired the look with a light grey pant, to really make the sweater pop and completed it with a classic black bootie.
Wishing you all a lovely week!
With love,
