Festival season is officially upon us and it’s no secret that we’re ready for it. Our girl Mel Denisse takes her Bralette game to a whole new level as she experiences her first Spring in Los Angeles and the onset of festival prep.
Have you ever put on a great-fitting pair of jeans only to be left wondering what shoes to wear with them? We’re here to help. With tons of fits and washes in our Men’s Denim collection, there’s a style for everyone from the trend-right skinny jean to the classic bootcut. Add shoes to the equation (sandals, boots, sneakers & more), and things can get a little dicey. Keep scrolling down to see how we’re pairing men’s denim with the right shoe.
Skinny Jean x Low Boots
The skinny leg opening of our Men’s Skinny Jean pairs perfectly with a low boot. Skinny jeans are great for showing off a cool shoe thanks to their ability to sit on top of the ankle rather than hang over the shoe. We paired these destructed Core Flex Skinny Jeans with a Chukka boot from Eastland, which sit right above the ankle.
Slim Jean x Sneakers
Thanks to the slim, tapered fit of our Slim Core Flex Jean, your sneakers can do all the talking here. Paired with a hi- or low-top sneaker, the slim jean sits right on the top of your shoe and won’t bunch up. We think a slim jean looks laid-back pegged (rolled) up once or twice, so if that’s more your style, this is the fit for you.
Original Straight Jean x Sandals
The original straight jean has a wider leg opening than a slim or skinny, so it will fall past your ankles and fit straight thru the leg. It’s the perfect match for a pair of sandals or flip flops. We paired the Original Straight Active Flex Jean with a pair of Birkenstocks.
Original Boot Jean x Boots
Our Original Boot Jean fits straight through the thigh and features a bottom cut made for boots, by name! A sturdier boot, like a pair of leather or suede Eastlands, are the best match for these jeans, which will hug the outsole of the boot.

California desert days call for shorts and nothing more than a bralette on top! Feel the sun in our La Playa Lace Longline Bralette paired with our Woven Short, and show off your pedicure in AEO’s Cutout Buckle Sandals. Then stay shaded with our Two Colors Floppy Hat and Aviator Sunglasses—festival essentials!
Throw your camera and a coverup for late night sets in our Towel Bag Tote, which is extra essential for a long festival day when you want to unzip, spread it out and hang out on the grass.
This week’s As Seen In #AEOSTYLE is all about the details – think destructed denim, jewel-toned embroidery, soft fringe and fabric twists. Our tops take it to the next level. Why wear a basic tank when you can have a fun lace-up front or crochet sweater fabric? The same goes for outerwear. Right now, we’re into lightly destroyed details on our denim jackets & military-inspired touches on our jackets. To balance out the little details, pair those pieces back to classic white denim Jeggings or layer with a boyfriend fit denim button down.

We’re always trying to reinvent classic styles so that you can take them & make them your own. This season, try our updated tank top or tee shirt. Try a cropped silhouette or a new fabric, like stitched sweater in the (yes, we said sweater!) for a foray into festival fashion.
Another trend we saw this week was in outerwear details. Breathe new life into your standard denim jacket or denim shirt by experimenting with destructed details on top instead of in your jeans, or wear a new wash. If you’re looking for the perfect outfit topper, our olive military jacket is light enough to take you from day to night.
