How To Style The Zip-Up Studded Skirt With Style Lullaby

Nights are getting cooler, but #AEOSTYLE is heating up. We’re feeling the 90s revival that’s happening all throughout fashion right now, and it’s been fun injecting hints of the trend into our everyday look (think lace blouses, chokers, studs & more). One of the main players in the 90s trend is the miniskirt, and we’re so excited to be able to make the most of this classic closet piece again! This season, our miniskirts range from dark denim to cozy corduroy to soft faux-suede & have surprise details like scalloped edges and studs. Blogger Sharon Wu from Style Lullaby styled the Zip-Up Studded Skirt, which is perfect for a night out or weekends roaming. Keep reading to see Sharon’s full look & discover the inspiration behind her outfit.

Meet Sharon:
“Born & bred in California, Sharon Wu discovered her zest for fashion through modelling at the young age of 17. Since then, she has worked with many creatives in the industry, while developing other passions such as photography, styling, and storytelling. In 2014, she created Style Lullaby as an open, creative space where she combines them all while sharing her personal style, beauty tips, fun life hacks, and more!

When Sharon is not busy shooting campaigns or creating content for Style Lullaby, she can be found at local boutiques, shops, and thrift stores scouring for unique and trendy pieces to style. All work aside, she loves spending time with her Chinese water dragon, Babadook.”

What Inspired Sharon’s Look:
“September is not only the month that it starts to cool down in time for fall, it is also the month that many are returning back to school. In light of summer coming to an end, this monochromatic look serves as the perfect outfit transitioning into autumn!

This black studded faux-suede skirt is perfect for everyday wear this season. It exudes the right amount of edge and cool, while providing lasting comfort. Worn with a simple white blouse and block sandals with metal-detailing, this skirt is sure to turn heads both in and out of the classroom.”

How to Style a Shirt Dress

The shirt dress is as versatile as it is comfy! Pair it with our Oversized Lace-Up Sweater for a cozy Fall #OOTD.

Blogger Mel Denisse took a break from her busy NYFW schedule to relax in her favorite Aerie layers.

How to Style a Shirt Dress

“This week has been a craze during fashion week and it was challenging to find moments to lay low. During the afternoon I got to capture some of my latest favorites from Aerie. I layered the chambray shirt dress with their oversized sweater on an off day for a simple, every day look. What I love are the minimal details like the gold rings with the criss-cross ties woven in to give it a little pop. I also tied the dress in a knot on the bottom to create some different lengths throughout the bottom.”

“If you didn’t already know, what I love is that Aerie has had several campaigns highlighting different aspects of natural beauty. I’ve partnered with them in the past for their untouched ads using models of all sizes here. Now, it’s great to enter the Fall season in partnership with their new campaign using no makeup. Going from layering the face to layering clothing could be a refreshing transition this season :)”

How To: Style A Headband 3 Ways

Hello, headbands! This essential hair accessory fits right in with our new Chill. Play. Move. collection made for any activity and any mood. Read on for 3 easy ways to add a little fun to your ‘do!

Effortless ease in 3 seconds flat! Part and style your hair however you want, then grab a soft and stretchy headband and place it over the crown of your head.

Heading straight to yoga from school? Braid your hair and add a ruched headband on top to keep you cute (and keep flyaways under control) in any class.

A sleek ponytail is the ultimate workout buddy. Pull your hair back into a high pony, then add a thin, nonslip headband on top, securing it an inch behind your hairline.

Pro Tips!

  • Put your headband over your head first, leaving it around your neck as you braid or style your hair.
  • Spray your tresses with dry shampoo to add volume and texture to any of these looks.
