Colder mornings and cozier nights means it’s time to trade in your Hi-Rise Festival Shorties for Fall #AEOSTYLE. One trend that we’ve been loving for both men and women is Free Fall. Filled with classic denim pieces and hints of vegan leather, it’s the perfect look to take from day to night. Shop the looks below for our favorite fall essentials.
The Jogger pant, with a relaxed fit, drawstring waist and cuffed bottom, this is where style and comfort come together. We asked two bloggers, Blair from Love, Blair and Ashlyn from Let It Be Beautiful to style our coolest pant fit for fall, Joggers.
What inspired Blair’s look:
Naturally I’d give into the jogger trend. Cozy, oversized and now acceptable as daywear. The key is hiking them up [a la cropped bottoms] and adding heels for a bit of lounge sophistication.
Blair is a gal that doesn’t like to sit still. Digital gal by day, fashion blogger by night and full-time closet nerd. She’s addicted to Instagram, eats vegan (mostly), is obsessed with almond milk lattes and listens to trance too loud. Give her tomboy threads and anything black, white or gray.
What inspired Ashlyn’s look:
What’s better then running errands in sweat pants and a t-shirt? Running errands in a pair of fashionable and sophisticated sweat pants that make it look like you aren’t wearing sweatpants. These AEO Jogger Pants are a new favorite of mine. I have been wearing them around the house to get work done, as pj’s and even out to run errands. I might even try to dress them up one day soon with a pair of heels and a blouse, so they are pretty versatile if you ask me! To complete my look I added a cute pair of New Balance sneakers & a cozy top. You may or may not catch me wearing these daily!
Ashlyn is a twenty-something currently living in Washington, D.C. with her better half, an English Bulldog, Tinsley. She is a beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger and part-time graphic designer for Let It Be Beautiful. Let It Be Beautiful was originally created as a personal outlet where she could share her life as a physician assistant student. Quickly, her blog evolved into a place to share her inspiration with others. Let It Be Beautiful offers a daily dose of style, design and prettiness!

For this week’s installment of our AEO Up Next series, we bring you the epitome of dream pop with LA-based Hunter Hunted. We sat down with Daniel Chang, one half of the duo, to chat about how he and Michael met and what inspires their sound. Check out their video for the single “Keep Together” and get to know them more after the jump!
AEO: Tell me a little bit about how this band came together.
Hunter Hunted: We started this project about a year and a half ago. Michael and I collectively had this desire to make a new sound that’s a little bit different from Lady Danville. And so a year after we just decided to branch off.
It’s funny because even as we grow up together. Our tastes and stuff still go kind of go hand-in-hand. So this project allowed us to explore different tastes and different directions together.
AEO: Did you grow up in Los Angeles?
HH: No, I grew up in a small town in Northern California called Danville. Michael actually grew up in the same town but we met in college so we didn’t know that we grew up in the same town. We actually went to rival high schools.
But we met in college when we were auditioning for an acapella group.
AEO: How would you say the area that you grew up in or the area that you lived in when you were in college affected the music that you make?
HH: For me, I actually didn’t start playing music until I got to UCLA. And I was, ya know, a college kid with a guitar so a lot of my songs are sort of acoustic, singer-songwriter driven. Then when Michael and I got together, we were coming from the acapella world so a lot of our songs were very harmony-based because we were so used to singing together in harmony.
As far as how where we’re from informed our music, I guess, I don’t know. It’s funny because a lot of people identify our sound as having a sort of California-indie sound. Personally, I don’t know what exactly that sounds like but I guess I can kind of feel it.
AEO: Yeah, that seems to be the difference between East and West coast artists. For some reason, the East is just a bit darker. Maybe it’s the weather.
HH: True. Our songs have some darker meanings but I guess as far as how it comes across, the sound can be kind of a sparkly upbeat vibe. Some of the songs that have a darker meaning can be disguised with a poppy sound.

Every season, we put together a press preview to showcase the latest American Eagle Outfitters and Aerie collections for fashion editors, bloggers and influencers in our New York City showroom. A press preview allows them to visit our showroom and see our new collection, talk to our PR team about what’s new at AEO and mingle with their peers.
Our latest preview was for our Holiday 2014 collection… and we did it this past July! That’s right… we were in a sea of wintery puffer jackets even when the rest of the world was rocking their AEO Festival shorties and Birkenstocks. Our showroom was beaming with neon lights flashing “Get Down” in a fun reference to our down puffer jackets that will be available this October.
We also gave our editors a sneak peek of the American Beagle Outfitters collection. ABO started as an April Fool’s Day joke to help rescue dogs in need, but thanks to your overwhelming response, we’re actually making the collection happen for Holiday 2014! Instagram star, @toastmeetsworld made a guest appearance at our event wearing American Beagle Outfitters, which was definitely a crowd pleaser.
Every prop, backdrop and styled outfit on a form took a lot of attention to detail. We even got to have fun with food, incorporating the theme of the season throughout the menu and serving items ranging from mini frozen hot chocolate to mini French Toast in our signature AEO back pocket.
Below are some exclusive pictures of our Holiday 2014 event. Be sure to check out the collection, which hits stores in November.

Hi everyone! It’s Jenni from I Spy DIY. I’m back with the fifth part of my series of DIY projects all around denim this Back to School season. This project is studded jeans which is one of the coolest trends for fall. Don’t just stop at jeans – you can stud shorts, canvas sneakers, denim jackets and more!
What you need:
Flatback studs in four sizes
What to do:
Step One: Measure and mark equal distances between where you would like each stud to be placed on your jeans.
Step Two: Put glue on the back of each stud with the paint brush, then place on the jeans. Start with the largest gems and work down to the smallest.
Step Three: Create pyramids down the seam of your jeans, decreasing the amount of gems as you reach the top.
Step Four: Let dry. Hand wash. Done!
Have you made an awesome DIY project with your favorite American Eagle Outfitters pieces? Show us with #AEOSTYLE on Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram for the chance to see your project on our AE.com Style Gallery or our blog! Be sure to tag @ispydiy so I can see your project, too!
