Temperatures are rising… and that means it’s finally time to show a little skin. While it’s not quite warm enough to wear shorts outside without freezing, we can finally wear one of our favorite trends for spring: cropped jeans.
Another trend we’ve been seeing from the runway to fashion blogs and magazines is what we’re calling Totally Tomboy. While we’re always fans of our Favorite Boyfriend Jean, the Boy Crop Jean is the perfect substitution for an updated spring look. This jean is slouchy with just the right amount of destroyed detailing. You can dress it up for a night on the town or dress it down for a casual outing with friends.
We asked three fashion bloggers – Melanie from Born Lippy, Vickie from Adventures in Fashion and Kassie from Kastles– to show us their personal style with our Boy Crop Jean. Each girl channeled the transitional weather in her look, from pairing the jeans with booties and layers for extra warmth to adding floral prints and heels for a springtime take.
“I wanted to showcase the jean in a way that can be worn in the awkward almost-spring temperatures. Calgary has definitely warmed up a bit, so I thought it would be fun to pair the jeans with some florals and stripes and my trusty hat and pumps!” -Melanie

“Spring is slowly showing herself. Lately I have been trying to transition spring pieces into my wardrobe. My latest obsession are the Boy Crop Jean from American Eagle Outfitters. They work well now with my favorite coat & little ankle boots, but I especially can’t wait to wear them with my favourite pair of strappy heels once the weather starts to warm up. Either way, I have a feeling I will be reaching to wear them everyday.” -Kassie

“Boyfriend jeans are totally my jam, probably because they’re as comfortable as they are chic. It’s so easy to throw them on with a basic tee and sneakers for a casual day, or spice them up with heels and a fun moto jacket. This cropped version from American Eagle Outfitters pretty much fits all the criteria I look for in a boyfriend jean—wash, fit, distressing—they’ve got it all. And with the help of some preppy layers and pearls, they look perfectly put together as well. What can I say, long live the boyfriend jean!” -Vickie
