One of the best parts of the holidays are unwrapping gifts. Nothing makes a gift feel more special than a one-of-a-kind wrapping job. You’ve spent hours picking the perfect gifts for everyone in your life and our stylist Anna created two unique gift wrapping ideas to give your hard work the ultimate finishing touch.
Idea 1: Customized Gift Tags
What You’ll Need:
Thick white paper
Various colors of glitter
Gather your materials.
Put your gift in a box and measure your yarn by wrapping it around your gift box. This will determine how many “ornaments” you will need.
Begin drawing various sized circles on the white paper (we traced a nail polish remover cap and a glitter bottle for perfect circles). Make sure to make two circles bigger for the name tags.
Cut out your circles, cover them in an even layer of clear glue and then cover them with glitter. Make sure to leave some space on bigger name tag circles so you can easily write on them.
Once the glitter dries glue your “ornaments” onto the yarn.
Secure yarn on the back corner of gift box with scotch tape and wrap around the box then secure once again at the bottom back corner.
Write your personal greeting on the name tags.
Idea Two: Wrap a Gift Using a Scarf
What you’ll need:
A medium sized gift box
Plain wrapping paper
Your favorite AEO scarf
Ribbon or twine (we used a distressed leather rope – you can find one at any craft store)
Dried pine cone (optional)
Gather your materials and wrap your gift in regular paper. We chose plain brown craft paper.
Lay out your scarf and fold it in half. Place the fringe-side up and fold over about a third of the way down.
Place the box on the scarf so that it covers the fringe. Fold the bottom of the scarf up and the top of the scarf down onto the box.
Measure the rope so it can tie around the box to secure the scarf in place.
Secure the pine cone around the bow and add a gift tag.
