Made In America Festival Guide

Made In America Festival Guide

Labor Day is almost here! And with summer sailing off, it’s hard not to feel a little blue. Celebrate the last weekend of summer by going to Made In America. This two day festival, located in Philadelphia, features incredible artists that will have you dancing and singing your end-of-summer blues away. Take a look at what we’re packing and who we’re most excited to see in this year’s lineup:

To Pack:

For girls :

Right now it’s all about mixing edgy, street-ready elements with classic girly pieces.  We especially love the way soft vegan leather takes a circle skirt silhouette to the next level.  Stay cool by pairing it with our adorable cropped corset and then piling on heavy metal jewelry.  Play up the black and white with a floral baseball cap and finish things off in a pair of awesome sneaker wedges you can dance in all day.

For guys:

Go for classic cool in a timeless khaki and t-shirt look.  Add a little edge by going for a slimmed down fit and bold photo real graphic. Effortless, stand-out style is epitomized in an essential jean jacket washed in dark, vintage-inspired indigo.  Once you’ve got that all together, all you need is your go-to sneakers and a great pair of shades.

To See:

August 31:

Phoenix: Known for their popular tunes that have been blasting in our speakers since the late 90’s, Phoenix delivers an energetic sound. Check out some of their newer songs like “Trying to Be Cool” or dance to their earlier hit “Summer Days” for an appropriate way to end summer.

Deadmau 5: For an endless dance party, shimmy your way over to Deadmau 5. Formally known as Joel Thomas Zimmerman, Deadmau 5 throws an energetic punch, new sound and nonstop electronic beats. We like “Ghosts and Stuff” and “4X4=12“.

Beyoncé: She’s fierce, fabulous and freaking fantastic. Beyoncé knows how to rock a crowd with her powerful voice, insane dance moves (go ahead, try to emulate them, we know we will be) and catchy lyrics. We say her concert is a go-to must. Listen to “Grown Woman” or “Single Ladies” for addicting tunes that never seem to get old.

September 1:

Wiz Khalifa: A Pittsburgh, PA native, Wiz has become a well-known name in the rapping industry. Wiz’s “Black and Yellow” was a national hit that took his career to a whole new level. With his smooth and quirky lyrics, Wiz cooks up an impressive concert filled with buzz and pizzazz. We like “No Sleep.”

Calvin Harris: This Scottish DJ, singer, songwriter and record producer has recently been making a huge name for himself in the US. His trendy beats will have you dancing all night and have been heard most recently in Ellie Goulding’s hit song “I Need Your Love.” Will Ellie be making a special appearance this weekend? Who knows, but we surly hope so.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis: Known for their hit songs like “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us,” Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis have become well-known names in the hip hop world. In this past year, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have racked up numerous awards for albums and songs and have become both a critic and crowd favorite. Plus, their newest song, “Same Love,” sends a powerful and heartfelt message to their listeners.

No matter who you choose to dance to at Made In America, you’re guaranteed to have a great time. Send your Made In America pictures to for a chance to be featured on our Tumblr.
