Festival season is in full force. With two months of great artists, events and tunes behind us, who’s to say we have to stop now? We’re packing our bags to spend a weekend filled with music and good vibes at Lollapalooza in the Windy City. Originally created in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction, Lollapalooza has come a long way and has featured some of the biggest names in the music industry. Take a look at some of our favorite artists to hit the stage this time around.
Major Lazer: If you need a pick me up, head over to Major Lazer for an insanely fun time. Originally created by American DJ/Producer Diplo and British DJ/Producer, Switch, Major Lazer keeps the crowd jumping… literally. Check out videos from their performance at Coachella.
Matt & Kim: This indie pop pair from Brooklyn is quite the duo. Their sound is so bright and funky that no matter how hard you try to resist dancing… your body will rebel and you will find yourself wiggling up a storm. Listen to “Daylight.” Another thing to note is that they make some killer playlists. Check out the one they created for us here.
Ellie Goulding: Not only is Ellie Goulding vocally talented, she’s multi-talented when it comes to playing instruments. The 26-year-old Brit has a unique voice that has landed her some awesome collaboration projects. Check out Skrillex’s “Summit” featuring Ellie, and “Starry Eyed.”
Phoenix: This alternative rock band has been around for more than a decade and they continue to put out catchy and high energy sound. Check out their newest album Bankrupt! Or, go for some of their older songs like “Run Run Run” and “Summer Days.”
Alt-J: One of the more—if not most!—buzzed about new bands. The unique blend of post-rock, folk and electronic elements doesn’t sound quite like anything else… and maybe that’s why it’s so addictive. Check out “Dissolve Me” and “Matilda.”
