Meet Megan, a photographer from Prineville, Oregon. Megan started doing photography when she was fifteen because she wanted the perfect Facebook profile picture. She started doing self-portraits and taking pictures at parties with her friends with a point-and-shoot and people liked her work so much she decided to invest in a good camera. She currently shoots with a Nikon D3100 and Canon 60D. Her favorite subjects are people that don’t know they are being photographed. “They don’t try looking good on camera, they are just beautiful on their own.”
Megan always surrounds herself with music. She is in a choir and loves giving people goose bumps when she sings in choral. Megan also loves going to concerts and seeing her favorite bands up close and personal. “I love making eye contact with my favorite band. It’s like they noticed me.” Her favorite bands are The Metronomy, MGMT, Nirvana, and anything with chill vibes, indie rock or classic rock.
Megan’s personal style incorporates a lot of black and denim. She loves pairing her favorite AE Skinny Jeans with combat boots and a baggy t-shirt or sweatshirt. Megan uses Tumblr for style inspiration and loves Vanessa Hudgen’s style. “I just put on clothes and I feel happy.”
Check out what Megan brought to Los Angeles for the Spring 2013 photo shoot to get to know her and see what she can’t live a day without.
“The “True” t-shirt represents who I am inside: I am always true to myself and I will never change for anyone. The keyboard represents my obsession with surfing the web whether its on my blog or watching videos of cats on Youtube! I take my camera everywhere I go. It represents my passion for photography and it is even my eyes to how I show people how I see the world. I bring my Gameboy everywhere with me because I always have to be doing something to entertain myself. My passport represents the wanderlust I have for the earth and my urge to experience what the world has to offer.”
